Green Bay Area Golf Courses: Planning your Green Bay Golf Vacation

The Green Bay area features some of northeast Wisconsin's best golf courses, and The Clarion Hotel in Green Bay is within easy driving distance of several of these Green Bay golf courses. In fact, eight courses are less than ten miles from the hotel. The nine-hole Shorewood Country Club golf course (4.4 miles) is the closest to the hotel and offers a challenging game of golf at one of the areas oldest courses.

Other notable courses include The Woods (7.1 miles), which offers two nine-hole courses; Thornberry Creek at Oneida (7.2 miles) and Ledgewood (8.9 miles), each of which offer an 18-hole course and a nine-hole course. Shorewood Golf Course is one of Green Bay's oldest golf courses. It features a short but challenging nine-hole course set amidst a large oak/savannah forest. The greens and fairways are well-maintained with challenging and well-placed bunkers and shots throughout the course. Golf carts, pull carts and clubs are available for rent and a practice area includes a full-swing practice hitting net plus chipping and putting greens. The Clubhouse restaurant is onsite and offers fresh, made to order food.

The Village Green Golf course, owned and operated by the Village of Howard, offers a beautiful 9-hole municipal course for golfers of all skill levels. The golf season is April through November, weather permitting. The Village Green Golf Course clubhouse features a fish fry year-round every Friday for lunch and dinner. The dining room and bar offer flat-panel televisions and wireless internet availability. The clubhouse is available year round for private parties up to 100 people. Full bar and restaurant included.

Other features include lessons and even a golf simulator, where you can play Pebble Beach, Spyglass Hill, and 28 other resort courses in the winter. In 2001, the former Woodside Country Club was purchased and the name changed to The Woods Golf Club. A new Sports Pub & Grill with a full menu was added and the Banquet facility was restored. A new Full Service Golf Shop, Golf Practice Range, and New Maintenance Building were also added. There are two picturesque Woods Golf Courses, the Meadows Nine and the Woods Nine.
