About Bay Beach Amusement Park

Bay Beach Amusement Park's history began in 1892 when a young entrepreneur, Mitchell Nejedlo, was attracted to the natural beauty of the area and purchased a small strip of land at the north end of what is now Irwin Avenue and began developing the land for a private beach resort which he named Bay View Beach. The land and park changed hands several times, but was always a favorite hot spot in town. Rides were added through the years such as the pony rides, which were added in 1931 and continue as a family tradition now in its third generation.

Today the park is a family place, with scenic views and rides for children, including bumper cars, a small-scale Wisconsin Central passenger train ride, a large slide and a Ferris wheel. Rides cost as little as 25 cents. Bay Beach Park consists of approximately 45 acres with 16 rides, 7 shelters, a dance hall, rest rooms, picnic areas, playground, softball and volleyball areas. The City of Green Bay is committed to a quality recreation area for both adults and their children.

Bay Beach Amusement Park Offers Affordable Family Fun!

Bay Beach Amusement Park sits on the shore of the Bay of Green Bay and is one of the best values in the Midwest for family entertainment. There is no admission charge to the Bay Beach Park and parking is free. Ride tickets are $.25 each, with the rides requiring one or two tickets per rider. Tickets can be purchased from the ticket office on the park grounds during regular operation hours. The new Zippin Pippin ride will cost $1.00 to ride. The Zippin Pippin Comes to Green Bay!

In March of 2010, The Green Bay City Council approved plans to purchase the Zippin Pippin. The Zippin Pippin will be built of all new materials. The purchase agreement includes the exclusive rights to the Zippin Pippin name, design configuration as well as all high value historic materials of the roller coaster. Green Bay officials have estimated that the Zippin Pippin would draw 200,000 visitors a year. Some roller coaster fans travel from all over the country to ride the premiere roller coasters and the Zippin Pippin is high on their list.
